Possible Climate Claims Using FAUNUS Carbon credits

1.Contribution Claims
Contribution claims express that your company contributes to measurable climate benefits outside your value chain, without asserting that your own emissions are neutralized.
To avoid greenwashing, comunicate:
- The carbon credits comply with ISO 14064-2 and are validated by an accredited body.
- The actual tonnes of CO₂ being reduced or removed by the project.
- The climate benefits are counted exclusively toward Romania’s national inventory, reported to the UNFCCC via the European Union.
2.Compensation / Neutralization
Once annual monitoring is completed and the project generates verified ex-post CO₂ removals, companies may begin using FAUNUS credits for voluntary neutralization of currently unavoidable emissions.
Companies should communicate that:
- FAUNUS credits are used voluntarily to neutralize emissions not covered by the EU/RO ETS.
- Neutralization applies only to emissions that cannot be reduced further.
- The climate benefit originates from Romanian forest ecosystems and is reported exclusively to Romania’s national climate ledger.
